"Willie" and I started our relationship only 4 months prior to my news of acquiring breast cancer.  Willie was a baby of six months old.  During my treatments and in the coming years, this special relationship encouraged me to organize a Healing With Horses program.  Willie has been a symbol to me of strength, courage and determination.  A daily visual for me to focus my energies as he made progress and I progressively healed.  Each day, we could be found in the training pen.  The feeling of some sort of normality would set into my body.  He seemed to communicate that I was alive and that I would be o.k.  Willie did not look at my bald head or my sick and weak body.  He knew how to challenge me to challenge myself, concluding that day with a feeling of accomplishment.  Our partnership created an understanding of progress with each other, as well as the healing of my own health.  I left each day with an increased feeling of hope, as well as an increased will to survive.  I thought to myself, "if this works for me, it must be shared with the world".  I became adamant to implement a program that would give patients an alternative focus during this difficult time.

I was then on a mission and began my intense research, setting out to find individuals who may have experienced a similar visualization.  I fumbled through thousands of web pages.  I *coincidently discovered an entire site dedicated to “Healing with Horses”.  This program, originated at Marian General Hospital in California .  Here, a dedicated group of individuals organized a study with the purpose to document the positive effects of forming an equine relationship, specifically to those enduring treatments due to breast cancer.  The study concluded a significant overall improvement to these individuals.  The power of healing is medicines primary goal and to develop a new healing formula is the discoverers objective.  The overall mission is to decrease the time for recovery and to improve the mental perception to the individuals healing.  Healing with Horses is a method of enhancing an individuals' mental perception.  * Coincidently ~ Simply, "God's way of remaining anonymous".
